On Thursday February 16th, 2006 the landscape of the Gettysburg Battlefield was altered forever. Cowardice Vandals Toppled
the Bronze Statue of the 114th PA, Collis' Zouaves. Those same vandals tore down the Bronze Statue of Smith's 4th NY
Battery at Devil's Den & stole the head, and destroyed the stone hand holding a Bronze Sword of the 11th Mass. Monument.
The Damage to these Monuments is in the Thousand's of Dollars, with no timetable on their Restoration.
The Zouave Monument Fund has been created as a Grass Roots Effort to help raise money to restore the Monument to the
114th to it's full glory. This site has been created as a central point for information, and news for the ZouMF. Estimated
repair cost is $8,000.00.
Projects in the Works
There are currently several Fund Raising ideas in the works including this Website, a dinner in Gettysburg in April,
Selling Candy Bars, etc. As these projects become set more information will be posted.
But still, every cent counts.

03/27/2006- The State of Pennsylvania has approved the Zouave Monument Fund. You can send any Donations

03/9/2006- A partial restoration has been done on the 114th Pa Monument by the Park Service.
The bronze statue has been placed back on top, with a new ram rod added. The fence has still not been fixed. The Zouave Monument
Fund is still raising money for this project, as it has not been funded yet, and the 11th Mass, & Smith's Battery are
still awaiting full restoration. Photos of the the partial restoration can be seen here.
